Gardens

On July 6, we took her out for her first excursion to a park.  It was very sunny (as you can see) and hot so we weren't there too long.
My favorite thing at this park is this pond which always has tons and tons of little turtles swimming around.  Sometimes you even catch a glimpse of a baby turtle.
This past Saturday, we went up to Fort Worth's botanical gardens.  Luckily, it was a cooler day comparatively.
Joe loved pushing the stroller.
Aubrey was sleeping pretty much the entire trip.  Somehow a mosquito got inside her canopy and bit her twice on the face though!
Some views of the gardens.  Not exactly the Cloisters in NYC, but reminiscent of it.  Sure glad we discovered this little gem in the area!

Smiles & Cute Faces

The following is an array of photos showing Aubrey's cute face.

Here she is napping following feeding time.  Cute lips!

One Saturday, she started smiling a lot for us.
Love this look.
Really happy face!
Perfect smiley face.
Not necessarily a smile.  Rather a contented look in her warm bath.
Loves being bundled up after bath time.
All clean and dressed now.
Waking up after a nap.  She always does a bunch of stretching once released from the swaddler.
Cute face along with poofy hair.  She looks proud of her name.
Sleepy girl
We took some pictures after church this past Sunday.  She kept her eyes closed the entire time, but seemed to think it funny when I stroked her cheeks or tickled her feet trying to get her to smile for the camera.
Mommy and Baby.  For some reason I have a seriously hard time looking at the camera on the iPad.
From today as she lounged in her gym enjoying the musical light show.

Bath Before Church

Aubrey desperately needed a bath before church this past Sunday.  When she was first born, she did not like bath time.  Thankfully, she now finds it super relaxing as she gets pampered and sits in the warm water.  Daddy gave her her bath for the first time.  We took a few as she dried off in her towel.  Looks so precious!

Her she is being a little angel at church.  Surprisingly, she slept through all three hours.
Dozing with Daddy.

Roxy and I were bonding on the other sofa while they dozed.  Roxy really tries to take advantage of the times I am not directly caring for Baby.  She became so used to it being just her and I over the past nine months, but she is adjusting to baby well.
Loudly purring in this one.

Already One Month!!

She really likes to lounge in her bouncer.  Each time I put her in it though somehow she always gets herself to slouch.
One day she was a bit fussy, so I laid us out on the couch together.  This is what Budd woke up to find.  You can really see how Aubrey has my nose and lips here.
On the ninth, we could no longer put her in the newborn sleepers.  This is is her first time in a 0-3 month size.
On Friday the 12th, she was 30 days old.  We went to her one month check-up.  She weighed 10 lbs 6.5 ozs (82nd percentile) and measured 22.0 in (87th percentile).  My how she has grown in just four weeks.  All last week, her eating sure showed she is sprouting given she took in 36 to 45 ounces per day.  This is a picture of us singing to her that night for her birth month while she plays on her gym mat.

Independence Day

Here is Aubrey in her red, white, & blue outfit for the 4th.  It is a 0-3 month dress and bloomers so a bit big on her right now.
 Looking happy.
Both Joe and I tried out the baby carriers.  I used my sling and Joe used the Baby Bjour carrier Connie and Eric sent us.  She liked cozying up in both of them.
Tired girl after our outing to the store so we could make hamburgers, corn on the cob, and apple pie.
 Play time!

First Sacrament Meeting

On Sunday the 30th, I decided Aubrey and I would go to Sacrament Meeting with Daddy then head on home.  She dressed up real nice in this pink and white outfit.
Sitting in her car seat during the talks just sleeping away.

Back at home Joe took one of Mommy and Baby together.

Growing, Growing

On the 26th, we took Aubrey in for her two week check up.  Both of us and even the doctor were in for a few surprises.  First, she I'd eating like a champ having gained one pound and two ounces since her birth.  She weighed 8 lbs 5 ozs.

During her exam, the doctor said to make sure she gets tummy time.  The doc laid her on her tummy and Aubrey just held her little head up like she'd already been doing her exercising.  We were all proud of her strength, but a bigger surprise shortly followed.  She ROLLED over, all on her own!  Dr. Phan was even surprised saying that is what to expect in a two or three month old.

Since then, our strong girl has rolled over one additional time on her own plus several almosts.
We took her out to get her second PKU screening done.  Really cute for going to get a heal stick.
When Mom and I first dressed her in this cute butterfly pj outfit, she needed a safety pin in the pants to keep them on and her little feet didn't really reach the bottom.  Now she is filling them up with no pins required.

You can also see she is almost too long for her sleeper we brought her home in.
Wow, newborns outfits are going to be packed away a little sooner then I thought.  Kind of sad, but at least she is growing like a champ!
