My First iPad Photos

So my computer had A LOT of viruses on it that, turns out, also damaged the hard drive.  I finally got it fixed a few days ago now that I have our apartment put together.  Because of the computer's issues, I couldn't get icloud to work on it or transfer photos from my ipad by wire connection.  Wednesday this week was spent organizing my like-new computer.

Following are some of the first pictures I took with my birthday present.  FYI - some of them belong in prior posts.

Roxy chilling out under the bench seat - she was the subject of my first ipad pics.

Chubby kitty chillin' in the window seal.

Here is the car they tried to rent us in Salt Lake when we went up for the wedding in April even though we had rented a normal compact car.  Joe was okay with it but me - looks like a pimp gangster mobile.  Kind of shady.  Sorry to any reading this who has one of these.
Needless to say I went back into the rental car guy and told him just that.  They upgraded us with no additional charge.
One of our visits during this trip was to Grandpa Wright.  We had a wonderful time catching up with him and he surprised us with a litter of adorable kittens shacked up in his backyard.

This little one had a gubber eye on close examination.  Looked like a little kitten pirate with only one eye.  We took the little sweetheart in and cleaned her gubber eye.  Her sweet face displayed her amazement at viewing the world through both eyes.
Three of her siblings inside their little house Grandpa Wright made for them, complete with insulation and mobile roof.

 Stretch that body.

Like Kitty, this little one loved my hair making it a small sanctuary.

 PEEK-A-BOO!!

Thanks for the visit Grandpa Wright!
Here are a few additional pictures of home following the wedding back in April.  LOVE my Molly and Kitty.

 Check out those whiskers!
Kade waiting for our relay race.
 Gotta love Grandpa's big truck.

 Molls in one of her
Two little buddies!  I love and miss them so much!

Off We Go!! Texans Now . . .

Some may not know, but Joe received a tenure track faculty position at University of Texas at Arlington.  Our last day at work was August 24.  Then we started the twenty-eight hour drive on the 27th.  Our biggest concern for the trip was Roxy.  When stressed, she pants like a dog which is kind of freaky.  Both of us were quite impressed with how well she did.

She was really cute sitting in her carrier on our middle console.

She would even rest her head and fall asleep in it.

We made a spot for her on the back seat with her favorite blankie, some toys, and, yes, her litter box for just in case.  Thankfully, there were no "just in case moments".  She did, however, revert back to her old way (when we first got her) of sleeping in the litter for comfort sake.  Kind of gross but, hey, it's clean.
She'd wander around in the back too.  Here is Roxy panting like a pup.
Our first night we stopped in Harrisburg, VA and, the second night, slightly south of Nashville in Olive Branch.  Roxy was extremely grateful each night to be out of the car.  We made it in time to pick up our apartment keys in Arlington on the 29th.  All of us made ourselves comfortable with what items we brought with us in the car.
Joe and Roxy lounging.

One night we made tacos.  Joe ran out of hard shells (I use soft) so he used some scoop chips to make minis.  I thought it was really cute.
Our stuff arrived from the moving truck company I guess as a welcome gift on our anniversary 9/4.  So we crammed Roxy and our stuff into the closets then unpacked the truck with the movers.

All of us were so happy to have our things back especially our beds!

Paddling in the Adirondacks (8/18-8/20)

Another one of our destinations prior to leaving CT was to go on another canoeing trip in the Adirondacks especially since last years trip was amazing.  Joe and Steve (one of his prior roommate in Toronto now living in NYC) had a challenging time finding a fourth paddler to come with us, but, at last, Steve's friend Liz was able to come!  This time we took an entirely different route that had more portages.

Paddling Budd
Our best animal find - a family of otters!!  So incredibly cute!  They even make these little puppy-sounding yelps.

Steve and Liz
Me having a great time.
Took some beautiful pictures.  I really liked the reflection on the water.

Portaging can be a challenge - Steve and Joe did great lugging the canoes.  We created a good way for me to carry the paddles.
The second portage was different.  Challenging to find then along some old railroad tracks.

Cute little guy along the way.

What a cool bridge.

More beautiful pictures with the sun rising.

We took a dip in the water just before this dam then set off down the river.

At the end of our trip, there was a larger dam.

Hopefully, we will make it back up here some day to enjoy the beauty and great paddling.
