Off We Go!! Texans Now . . .

Some may not know, but Joe received a tenure track faculty position at University of Texas at Arlington.  Our last day at work was August 24.  Then we started the twenty-eight hour drive on the 27th.  Our biggest concern for the trip was Roxy.  When stressed, she pants like a dog which is kind of freaky.  Both of us were quite impressed with how well she did.

She was really cute sitting in her carrier on our middle console.

She would even rest her head and fall asleep in it.

We made a spot for her on the back seat with her favorite blankie, some toys, and, yes, her litter box for just in case.  Thankfully, there were no "just in case moments".  She did, however, revert back to her old way (when we first got her) of sleeping in the litter for comfort sake.  Kind of gross but, hey, it's clean.
She'd wander around in the back too.  Here is Roxy panting like a pup.
Our first night we stopped in Harrisburg, VA and, the second night, slightly south of Nashville in Olive Branch.  Roxy was extremely grateful each night to be out of the car.  We made it in time to pick up our apartment keys in Arlington on the 29th.  All of us made ourselves comfortable with what items we brought with us in the car.
Joe and Roxy lounging.

One night we made tacos.  Joe ran out of hard shells (I use soft) so he used some scoop chips to make minis.  I thought it was really cute.
Our stuff arrived from the moving truck company I guess as a welcome gift on our anniversary 9/4.  So we crammed Roxy and our stuff into the closets then unpacked the truck with the movers.

All of us were so happy to have our things back especially our beds!
