Paddling in the Adirondacks (8/18-8/20)

Another one of our destinations prior to leaving CT was to go on another canoeing trip in the Adirondacks especially since last years trip was amazing.  Joe and Steve (one of his prior roommate in Toronto now living in NYC) had a challenging time finding a fourth paddler to come with us, but, at last, Steve's friend Liz was able to come!  This time we took an entirely different route that had more portages.

Our best animal find - a family of otters!!  So incredibly cute!  They even make these little puppy-sounding yelps.

Me having a great time.
Took some beautiful pictures.  I really liked the reflection on the water.

Portaging can be a challenge - Steve and Joe did great lugging the canoes.  We created a good way for me to carry the paddles.
The second portage was different.  Challenging to find then along some old railroad tracks.

Cute little guy along the way.

What a cool bridge.

More beautiful pictures with the sun rising.

We took a dip in the water just before this dam then set off down the river.

At the end of our trip, there was a larger dam.

Hopefully, we will make it back up here some day to enjoy the beauty and great paddling.
